PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This is a four-hour training (including preliminaries and assessment) on the use of the English language for professional and occupational purposes, with focus on gender-fair communication that promotes respect, equity, responsibility, and accountability, both in the online and face-to-face platforms. This is aligned with the Domain 1 Strand 6 in the use of the English language in teaching and learning.

OBJECTIVES

This learning event aims to enhance the proficiency in the English language of academic professionals. Specifically, it is expected that at the end of this training, the participants will<br/><br/>1. Assess personal aptitudes in communicating using the English language for occupational and professional purposes<br/><br/>2. Demonstrate competencies in<br/><br/>a) Receiving information through effective listening and reading comprehension;<br/>b) Relaying information through mindful speaking and writing aptitudes.<br/>3. Identify and apply appropriate strategies in<br/>a) Using gender-fair language when communicating with others;<br/>b) Analyzing information received as basis for making decisions.
