PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This is a 20 Hour course suitable for staff who has contact with pregnant women, mothers and their newborn infants. This may include doctors, nurses, midwives, health care assistants, nutritionists, peer supporters and other staff. The course itself can provide a common foundation for basic breastfeeding management that will then ensure long term implementation of appropriate policies that support optimal infant feeding. This course also help equip the hospital staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to transform the health facility into baby-friendly institutions through implementation of Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and to sustain policy and practice changes.
