PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) is a 40-hour extensive program that will give participants basic knowledge in analysis of hazards and risks, accident investigation and its corresponding action plan, and safety audits in the construction industry. This course will aid participants to understand and apply the wide scope of Safety and Health practices in a construction setting. Completing the COSH program is a requirement for safety officers working in the construction industry under Rule 1030 of the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) and the DOLE Department Order No. 13, s. 1998: Guidelines Governing Safety and Health in the Construction Industry.
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, participants will be able to: 1. Identify the duties and responsibilities of a safety officer under OSH legislation 2. Recognize the importance of safety and health in construction 3. Create safety procedures applicable in construction setting 4. Recognize the common risks and hazards in construction 5. Understand how to prevent accidents, and report workplace incidents if any 6. Understand the consequences of unsafe condition and work practices 7. Apply first aid as necessary
