PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Course Description:
This training-workshop is primarily designed to focus on developing the Participatory Action Research (PAR) for secondary school teachers in rural areas in Caraga region by the teacher-participants from the Department of Education teaching secondary schools and external stakeholders in the community in Caraga Region. It is a way to refresh, enhance, and upskill the teacher-participants in research to develop a culture of practice of collaboration with the external stakeholders in the community for addressing contextualized, localized and indigenized problems in the school settings adapt to the new normal curricular paradigm.
Target participants who are the school principals, secondary school teachers teaching English, Filipino, MAPEH, Social Science, EPP, Mathematics and Science will be given the opportunity to brainstorm, review, analyze, and discuss relevant perspectives in developing Action Research in PAR proposal for secondary education. Also to identify the potential solution to the classroom-based challenges in teaching science encountered by the teachers in the new normal. There is a need to convene to elicit academic discourse to formulate research proposals specifically in PAR of the identified problems in the delivery of instruction as a springboard for upgrading teaching, social innovation, and extension in the community for Participatory Action research.
Moreover, these materials serve as vehicles to integrate non-sexist language as a mechanism for information dissemination on Gender and Development (GAD) to promote gender equality and to contribute to a gender- responsive teaching and learning process.
