TRAINING OF ALS TEACHERS ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CONTEXTUALIZED MOST ESSENTIAL LEARNING COMPETENCIES (MELCS)-BASED ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM

Deped Caraga Region

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The contextualized MELCs-based ALS-SHS Curriculum shall serve as the primary reference for all schools, school division offices (SDOs), and regional offices (ROs) in determining and implementing learning delivery approaches that are suited to the local context and diversity of learners. ROs, SDOs, and schools need to create a new list of learning competencies for the different learning strands since these are already available through the MELCs. Schools, SDOs, and ROs are encouraged to supplement the MELCS through their enhancement and contextualization, which specifically includes the preparation of modules of self-learning kits. The contextualized MELCs-based ALS SHS Curriculum will enable the department to focus instruction on the most essential and indispensable competencies that our learners must acquire as we anticipate challenges in learning delivery.
