PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This is a four-hour online learning event that aims to provide practical tips for professionals on financial literacy and management. This learning event will cover topics on managing income and monitoring cash flow, dealing with debts, deciding on investments, and protecting self from scams and predatory schemes. Research shows that even in European countries where the gender gap is narrow, women are still 12.7% less financially capable as compared to men; hence, Financial Literacy can help us achieve equitability among women and men.
Among professional, there has been a persistent stereotype that teachers are living from one loan to another just to get by. The Department of Education is not blind to this situation of the majority of teachers—that when they are financially unstable, the quality of their performance and interaction with their learners can be affected. With the Goals of the MATATAG, which intends to “give support to teachers to teach better,” this seminar is based on the purpose of uplifting the image of the professional teacher who is empowered as they inspire their students to also become empowered.
