Making Learning Action Cell Productive and Effective

NATIONAL EDUCATORS ACADEMY OF THE PHILIPPINES- REGION I

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The goal of every educational organization is to attain the optimal quality of teachers. This is in line with the belief that quality of learning is greatly influenced by the quality of teaching (Mckinsey, 2012). The Department of Education firmly believes that teachers must be capacitated through the provision of professional development interventions. One of which is the Learning Action Cell. Learning Action Cell, as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 35, s. 2016, is defined as a group of teachers who engage in collaborative learning sessions to solve shared challenges encountered in the school facilitated by the school head or a designated LAC Leader. LACs will become the school-based communities of practice that are positive, caring, and safe spaces. The Capability Building on Making Learning Action Cell Productive and Effective aims to institutionalize the conduct of Learning Action Cell in their mandate of leading strategically, managing school operations and resources, focusing on teaching and learning and building connections. Further, the said program is anchored on the Basic Education-Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) which provides the blueprint of modalities used during these circumstances.
