PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Safe and Sound I: Basic Course on Patient Safety and Quality Improvement provides an overview of the principles of patient safety and healthcare improvement to professionals and personnel directly and indirectly involved in patient care. The course introduces concepts on safe design, impact of errors and harm in healthcare, safety culture, common safety issues, and effective teams.
OBJECTIVES
1. Integrate principles of safe design in daily tasks<br/>2. Understand the role of patient safety culture in promoting safe care<br/>3. Identify common patient safety issues and strategies for their prevention<br/>4. Demonstrate correct approach to adverse events<br/>5. Apply skills in effective communication and teamwork
