PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This basic diabetes course for general practitioners and family physicians and allied health care professionals. It provides basic knowledge of diabetes including screening, diagnosis, management, and early treatment of its complications. The seminar-workshop will also include skills development and/or enhancement on insulin injection and monitoring of blood glucose which is important aspect in adherence to treatment along with this is the importance of diabetes education will be emphasized. The seminar-workshop will utilize the synchronous sessions or face to face sessions. Participants will be provided with references to read on before and even after the sessions. Cases will be discussed and analyzed during the breakout sessions with facilitators as a means of monitoring and enhancing the learning of participants. This will be the feedback and formative evaluation of the teaching-learning process. The last session will be the return demonstration and critiquing of the skills on injection and monitoring techniques.
