PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider Basic training is conducted for 16 hours divided equally into 8 hours for didactics and 8 hours for skills acquisition and mastery. BLS is the foundation of all resuscitative efforts that improve the chance of survival. It includes the recognition of signs of sudden cardiac arrest, foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO); cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); and defibrillation with automated external defibrillation (AED).
